Commissioning Manager – Data Center Projects

About the role

The Commissioning Manager will lead data‑center commissioning projects from inception through completion, ensuring safety, quality, and financial performance. This senior position drives business growth while managing client relationships and multidisciplinary teams.

Key responsibilities

• Lead all phases of commissioning (levels 1‑5) and expand the business unit through successful project delivery.
• Act as the Competent Person for safety, overseeing training, Job Hazard Analyses, and weekly toolbox talks.
• Utilise accounting, project‑management, and resource‑planning systems to forecast resources, billing, and expenses.
• Monitor project finances, manage accounts payable/receivable, revenue projections, and close‑out activities.
• Identify scope variances, advise clients on change orders, and resolve resource conflicts.
• Manage a diverse commissioning team, including project managers, vendors, contractors, and client representatives.

Required profile

• Strong engineering background in mechanical or electrical disciplines.
• Hands‑on experience with live electrical components, three‑phase AC and DC power systems, or chilled‑water and commercial HVAC systems.
• Proven ability to interact professionally with clients and conduct site surveys and field reporting.
• Familiarity with codes, local regulations, construction practices, and equipment concepts.
• Active participation in professional trade associations.
