Android Developer (Kotlin, Jetpack Compose)

About the role

ThinkUp is looking for experienced Android Developers to join a fast‑moving, agile team building innovative mobile solutions for high‑impact clients across LATAM. You will work on the full product lifecycle, from business analysis and design to delivery and continuous improvement of modern, scalable Android applications.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop native Android apps using Kotlin, Jetpack Compose and MVVM/MVI architectures while adhering to clean code and clean architecture principles.
• Participate in product definition: understand business goals, challenge requirements and propose technical solutions aligned with commercial objectives.
• Define and maintain quality standards, including automated unit, instrumented and E2E testing (Maestro), CI/CD pipelines (Codemagic, GitHub Actions) and feature‑flag management (RemoteConfig, Flagsmith).
• Implement observability with Crashlytics and Sentry, using production data to drive decisions.
• Apply fintech‑specific mobile security practices such as biometrics, Play Integrity API, secure storage and handling of sensitive data.
• Lead code reviews focused on quality and best practices.
• Utilize agentic development tools (skills, hooks, agents) to automate repetitive tasks and improve workflow efficiency.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience building native Android applications, primarily with Kotlin.
• Strong mastery of Jetpack Compose, Coroutines and MVVM/MVI architectures, with a genuine focus on clean code.
• Proven experience implementing CI/CD pipelines and feature‑flag systems for continuous delivery.
• Deep expertise in automated testing as a cultural norm.
• Interest or experience in agentic development (skills, hooks, agents) to automate workflows.
• Obsessive focus on performance, product quality and technical automation.
• Ownership mindset: understand the why behind each feature and think about measuring ROI.
• Proactive attitude with a genuine interest in business objectives, not just technical execution.
