Administrative & Finance Associate

About the role

The Administrative & Finance Associate supports the UNICEF Uruguay Country Office by ensuring that administrative and financial processes run smoothly, accurately and in line with UNICEF policies. Reporting to the Operations Manager, the role works closely with programme, fundraising, operations and external relations teams.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and monitor specialized administrative processes, guaranteeing compliance with UNICEF rules, delegated authorities and office SOPs.
• Provide budget and financial monitoring, supporting the preparation of work plans, risk assessments and management documents.
• Process payments and invoices, manage vendor contracts and ensure timely, accurate transactions.
• Offer guidance to staff on documentation standards, workflow requirements and internal controls.
• Identify and resolve process issues, contributing to continuous improvement of office workflows and service delivery.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of UNICEF financial rules, internal controls and budgeting procedures.
• Experience in administrative support within an international or non‑profit environment.
• Ability to work collaboratively with diverse internal and external stakeholders.
• Attention to detail and commitment to compliance and accountability.

Required skills

• Proficiency in using UNICEF’s financial and administrative systems.
